,i dont much worry about how much blood pours out when the deer most of the time are laying with in site of where they were shot,i try not to ruin meat & a high shot of any kind normally ruins a bunch,i have shot 2 bucks with my 300wm & 150g corelocks this year & both have run a lot farther than i would have thought possible with the hearts shredded ,i will pick less meat damage & a short run over drt & meat lose,i reckon if i ever see a true monster i might try to shoot high shoulder but i doubt it,things happen in a hunting situation & a little leeway with bullet placement may mean the difference between a hit or miss,it dosent sound like anythings wrong with your bullets but if you buy into the pass thru theory a bonded bullet & the heaviest bullet for your caliber might give you 2 holes in a deer with less internal damage,its all about choices
