Question found several rubs maybe 6 or 7 this was middle of november none have been touched since last year I hunted that area only once but had no time to get back yet.could this post season rubs these rubs are close to the lake where the creek feeds into it.anyone ever seen fresh rubs during the late season that wasn't touched during the primary rut in november?sorry for the long question

Unless they are signpost rubs or they are in a very distinct location it's doubtful a buck will ever re-visit them; at least during the same season. With the same yearly travel patterns they may from year to year. A buck can and will possibly make rubs from the time they come out of velvet until they drop their antlers.

To my way of thinking a buck doesn't typically rub a tree and then move up to the next one a rub it only to hit all of them in a small area. When you see a grove of rubs it's generally a holding or staging area. Are they located on the perimeter of a field or somewhere similar?

A few years ago I found a rub in February or maybe even March that was very fresh, still had the head hairs stuck to it.

Next to a creek that feeds into the lake with a field hust southeast maybe 75 too 100 yards a small wood line separates the field from the lake which connects the block of woods I am hunting to another big block of woods on the other side of the lake

Early December is time bucks start rubbing again in these parts. Scrapes too. But just remember the only guarantee on rubs and scrapes is you know a deer was once there.

Bucks get a surge of testosterone about shedding time and it aids them in getting rid of antlers. Fresh scrapes also show up around this time every spring.
