Ok 102. I have used razorback 5, thunderheads, muzzy ,slick trick 100 grain, punch cutters epic fail, couple off brands at Walmart, spitfires, rockets, original rage, wasp, and swhackers.

Swhackers are the best I have ever used. Hands down.

There are soooooo many answers to this question, and all of them are correct--it's the broadhead you have the most confidence in. The best advice I can give you, is to shoot as many as you want and see how they fly in your setup. It's much like finding a turkey shell and choke combo--you have to spend some time and effort in finding the right combo for you.

That being said, the fixed blade broadheads: Slick Trick, Muzzy MX-3 and MX-4, Thunderheads and G5 Strikers are generally at the top of the popular list and have proven track records. In the expandable line you have the popular Rage, NAP Killzone and Shwacker all with proven results, but with debate between users in performance from time to time.

One other thing to think about, generally speaking, mechanical heads will fly better out of a poorly tuned setup, via the bow or the shooter, than a fixed blade head will. Not saying don't tune your setup and grab a pack of expendables, but just understand this going in when you're shooting different heads.

I will say although I shoot mechanicals I always check tune with fixed blades. If I can get fixed blades hitting with field points, mechanicals won't be a problem.

I've used many over the years, and have settled on Tekkan T3's. Mechanical, and never have had any problems. Was happy with Thunderheads and Muzzy and Snypers and Wasp. Only ones I didn't really care for were Grim Reaper and Vortex because they weren't sturdy enough. Any and all put in the right spot will kill so long as they're SHARP. I do not shoot like I used to, otherwise I would probably be using the Slik Tricks from every thing I've read about them.

I generally want to get opinions from hunters who have experience with killing multiple deer with multiple broadheads.
You know, so they have an idea what they are talking about because they have a bunch of experience.

So first of all, I want to know how much experience they have with a broadhead or any tool for that matter in order to quantify the level of confidence i have in that particular area with that person responding.

So many times on these boards I have heard opinions from those anxious to answer who had little or no experience with the subject matter.

In other words, I want to hear answers from those who have the most experience I can find with the subjuect matter.

Those persons can generally give you the best answer.

Dude this is an Internet forum, where everyone is an expert.

I like to kill deer. Ok, so this may not be exactly accurate.

I LOVE to make good shots on adult deer at close ranges (inside 25 yards) from an elevated position, with my bow and arrow.

My best year I killed 17 in a season.

I have averaged 10 on many seasons.

So let's do the math...
17 heads
a few arrows (some had to be discarded after the deer ran off or stepped on it or it hit a rock or tree after passing through)

Rage Hypodermics are EXPENSIVE. About 10 to 15 each.

That is $170.00 to $255.00 depending on the price you paid

I am a blue collar hunter hunting on public land with a budget.

I am interested in using quality equipment at an affordable price.

If I were using PLENTY of Kinetic Energy and had much deeper pockets I would probably use Rage Hypodermic. They work well. Several guys in our group use these. But then, they do not use very many in a year.

I found that Magnus Stingers fly great, kill VERY well, are shaving sharp and are FREE replacement after each use.

Kinda hard to argue with free.

I also like Buzz cuts but the main blades are simply the Stingers that have been serrated to make them look more cool, but weaken the blade. This is especially noticeable after having passed thru hard bone. The blades often break and are hard to retrieve from the deer after recovering. I don't like worrying about broken blades in meat I am about to butcher.

THe only complaint I have about the Magnus is the blood trail. They tend to be a little weak in the first 75 yards. But then, when you hear the crash, does it really matter?

Good point 102. I would definitely reconsider my choice of broadhead if I killed as many as you in a season.

Me either!
I really dislike this about the smaller diameter heads.

But then, I have also seen this with Rage Hypodermics occasionally. Not as often, but occasionally.
