I'm new to it also, but natural cover is key. I drew back and shot at a turkey at 20 yards yesterday, and I was able to draw without getting busted because of the large limestone bedrock I was sitting behind. However I was sitting cross legged and was unable to sit up tall enough, and ended up shooting the rock and the arrow went off into the trees. So it's better to kneel if you know a bird is coming and your cover is in front of you. But it's also good to nestle down into some thick shady cover behind you that you can blend into. I try to stay in darker areas like under a cedar or bushes while the turkey hopefully comes out in a lighter spot so it can't see you as well. Just don't make the mistake I made and shoot a rock. I'd have tagged out with #4 with a bow on the first try if not for that mistake.
