ammo does make a lot of difference

My gun is right the opposite. It shoots the Winchesters great but the cci's look like you shot the paper with a shotgun. You just have to find the right combination of gun and ammo to get good groups.

Are you sure that your base and rings are tight. A prostaff is a pretty decent scope. A friend of mine had a 10-22 that would do the same thing and it turned out to be a scope base that was loose.

the 597 is the problem. I have always had nightmares out of mine. So far it likes the cci or federal.
