Experienced hunter or not has jack squat to do with gun safety 101. Anyone shooting anything ESPECIALLY with a gun should be 100% sure of their target AND whats beyond it before putting their sights on it and ESPECIALLY before pulling the trigger.I find it very disturbing that there is actually someone openly saying that the color of ones clothing completely over rides the most basic and fundamental points of gun safety. And the excuse for shooting someone is that they didnt have the correct color clothing on is the biggest most piss pour excuse or thought I have ever heard in my life.

I emphasized the word "Should" in your post as that is key to my point. I agree 100% that a hunter SHOULD always know what they are shooting at but do you trust - with your life - that every single hunter sharing the woods with you DOES follow that rule? I don't. I think you are also overlooking the fact that, considering the range of a rifle, even if a hunter knows for a fact that their target is a deer, there is a possibility that another hunter is several hundred yards beyond that deer and could easily be overlooked if they are not wearing ablaze orange. If the shot misses the deer, it could easily hit the other hunter who was not noticed because the shooter was focused on the deer and didn't see the full camo hunter 400 yards beyond the deer.

I don't care either way, but I cant imagine the color required to be legal, will actually keep anybody male or female from hunting, if that's what they want to do. I don't see pink actually recruiting large #'s of women suddenly.

One last thought/comment and I'm done as If it wasn't written I would not believe it if I hadn't read it myself. Since most of Tennessee is wooded and hilly/mountainous to say the least and to say that blaze orange can magically make one visible from hundreds on yards away as a reason why hunters do not shoot other hunters is just an unbelievable train of reasoning and/or thought.

As I said before I hope you are just jerking our chain cause this ideology is simply insane and a slap in the face to every one who practices true safety in the field.

And that you Lord for blessing me and my family as to not be within a 100 mIles of such insanity

And and I apologize to the original poster for getting so far off of your intended subject.

That is all except WOW

You sure do get worked up over little bitty unimportant things don't you GrillNMan?

100 miles? Is that accurate? NOBODY within that vast area is even capable of making a mistake? I bet they don't even wear seat belts in that safety zone!? Dang, I wonder how all those safe people ended up living in a big circle like that?? :)

I like the way you ended with "WOW". That's the standard negative response nowadays, isn't it? If someone doesn't like something they respond with "WOW". Or if they REALLY don't like the situation they go with "WOW - JUST WOW". I like that one a lot. It shows originality. The combination of the words "Wow, just WoW" shows complete disgust, right? Funny how such a silly expression caught on like that. Oh yeah, what's those others expressions of disgust that the "Young & Moderns" have come up with? Oh yeah......"REALLY??" and "SERIOUSLY" that's the ones, right? Oh well, at least you let me off with just a simple WOW. :)

OK, go back to supporting Pink vests in order to liberate the tens of thousands of women who have been suppressed by evil ol' men who have forced orange vests on them since the dawn of time and by doing so have kept women out of the hunting fields. :)

I believe SCN answered the question already. I also agree with Winchester and DA pink wont atrack significient numbers of new women hunters.

that is funny

I'm cool with it. If it's as safe as blaze orange, I'd have no problem with it being added. According to preliminary studies, it may even be safer.

There was an article in American Hunter and again DDH several years ago that stated Blaze Pink was in a different color spectrum and is supposedly more visible than orange.

Good to see some positive feedback on the Blaze Pink issue.

I hope to see TN adopt the Blaze Pink Camo rule. Not that I really want to go Blaze Pink into the wilderness. I would like to see it as a Alternative to women so we can get more of them into the sport.

Regardless of what "some" of the peoples view is on this subject... women do have some vanity issues when it comes to "looking " the part and looking good.

For that matter...men do too to a certain degree. You see it all the time. Men have to have the latest camo all matching including the pattern to the gun to the boots to the waders.

I'm sort of in the "if it ain't broke don't try to fix it" club. I really don't see the push for pink but if it's safe and legal and makes you feel better then have at it.

I'm in DA's corner. It should be one uniform color, whether that is orange or pink or pink and orange striped. Everybody knows to look for orange so it should stay that way.

I haven't seen anything recently posted on this. Have you guys noticed that the hunting guide now says "blaze orange/pink". I guess it finally passed. This thread was from 2016.

For the record, I'm in the camp of, as long as it's high visibility, I don't care what color it is.

I can't believe that people are against this. I mean I'm not going to wear pink unless it's the law but there truly is no negative effect from it other then what your imagination can conjure up. If you were hunting and saw a bright patch of blazepink in the woods are you going to shoot it because everybody knows that orange is what humans wear in the woods so that must be a deer in pink? That sounds ridiculous. When I'm driving down the interstate and see construction I've never had a hard time avoiding the workers and guess what some of them were wearing orange and some were wearing yellow. It makes no difference. If your mad that it's tradition and or you just don't like to feminize hunting that's fine just say that.
I agree with you. Deer are not wearing pink, turkey's are not wearing pink, nor any other woodland creature. I've seen female construction worker's wearing pink vests and hardhats. They stand out better than the orange and safety yellow IMHO. So what is the problem with having a couple or 3 different safety colors? None.

That's actually not a bad idea. Come out with a whole line of cosmetics for women for hunting.,face paints and all.

I don't think the market can argue any longer that women are flocking to the woods more and buying products geared more to them.

I was standing in BPS looking at hats one day and saw one that had this weird opening on the back. It looked different than all the rest which is what first attracted me to it. But I could not figure out what the round hole in the back was for. When I asked I was told it was made for a pony tail to go through. I was like oh it's a woman's hat? he said no we have a lot of men that buy them too that put their hair through there too!.

6.5 Creedmore guys wear those hats 👲 thinking about buying one 😁 . And for the record ...oh no don't say it ....yes I'll say it . Some guys on here will buy the pink camo for themselves if it passes 🙄 Good grief .....thought this woke crap is leaving us . Why but why should we adapt to pink ? I know hunting knows no gender but it was basically a men's sport . With that said I don't mind women being involved in hunting at all but to change things that have been in place for many years just to be able to sell more merchandise is ridiculous. But this is JMHO .

So here's a question, what exactly is "blaze" pink? Just like orange there's different pinks. Is "flaming" pink, I mean "flamingo" pink the same as "blaze" pink? 🤪

I'm with DA on this one. The whole point of Blaze Orange is Safety. You want one standard color that is immediately and universally recognized as being another hunter. We don't need to have a bunch of different colors to have to recall and get confused over whether it's some Fall leaf color or a hunters safety vest. Stick with Orange for everybody if you value human life more than fashion.
What difference does it make what color a person is wearing. So because they may not be a hunter in orange, safety is out the window? You can see the pink just as easily and nothing natural is pink. Even fall leaves. Not you specifically but you're still not going to shoot in that direction or put them in danger just because they aren't a hunter.

women don't think like men.

Havent you been keeping up with the marketplace?

The manufactures have been coming out with complete lines of bows, guns and hunting apparel all aimed and targeted at getting women into the activity. There are even TV shows and TV show host geared towards women that are aimed at getting them involved in the sport. Women want to look pretty when they are hunting. Women do not see orange as a pretty colour for them. Unless they are some Vols fan wife or something. Then I guess they are ok with it.
Women do not think. They emote.
