Big Sandy NWR

Anyone know why they close Big Sandy National Wildlife Refuge on 11/15? I heard something about duck hunters

It looks to be more to protect certain migratory wildlife in the area. It's shows closed from November 15- March 15

The migratory bird refuges usually close mid-November to protect the ducks/geese from human intrusion.

all waterfowl sanctuary's on NWRs are closed from Nov 15- march 15th. Some NWRs that allow hunting are only open in certain areas
