Toted the ole 410. to Catoosa along with 3 friends, 6:40 am Rats jumping er-where shot 5 pretty long shots and missed but not to make excuses If I shoot I have intentions of killing one.....but Oh Well maybe next time!!!

It's fun just being out in the woods in the early morning. I was out there too, and didn't fare much better. I killed one, and only saw 4. Hickory nutz everywhere, but the squirrels were scarce.

MY boy(6) and I did not bring anything home either. Very few squirrels in the woods today...He did get blowed at by a doe for his first time. That was pretty cool! I was teaching him about being quit and listening and looking while you walk, and to stop every so often just to look and listen. I got to say he was soaking it all in and for about 125yrds we were very "sneaky". Well as luck would have it there was a bedded doe that we surprised at 20ft!! She got up and was all confused as to how we got there with out her knowing it sooner...did some stomping and blowing right in front of my 6yr old!!! It was awsome...the look on his face was priceless!!! No tree rats but had a blast! :grin:
