Got to my spot on National Forest in south MS right at gobble time, saw where someone had left a present at the footpath on the way in. Didn't take time to study it, just headed on in. No spiderweb on the path in the first few hundred yards, but didn't matter, a tom popped off on his own, and I worked it and set up on him. He shut up after he hit the ground, I have him 4.5 hours to fire back up and repositioned a couple times. Dunno if he was being tight lipped or just didn't hear me with the wind. Finally gave up and headed out. Checked the shotshell...
It's a #2 Steel shot. And old enough where there is a bit of rust on the brass. No residual smell of gunpowder. Not even the local Perry County boys would actually turkey hunt with no 2 steel. I guess it was all they could find in the floorboard of their truck. I just giggled to myself how funny turkey hunters can be
