My middle son went to Southern Outdoor Technologies yesterday where Bass Hunter boats are made and picked up a new 120. The quality of the boat is impressive, it should last him a LONG time. He's been saving his money helping me on landscaping/tree trimming jobs and splitting/stacking/selling firewood.

I think the plan now is to put a 55lb thrust trolling motor on it and maybe use the 27lb one he has on the other to troll around while fishing.

Anybody got any good ideas to share for accessorizing and outfitting? I think we'll upgrade the seats once we get it set up and fishing.

The bass hunter style boats are super stable. After using several of them I would suggest front trolling motor and a rudder of some sort on rear. They are built like a box and will move with any bit of wind. We have had a pelican 10ft for prolly 15 years between myself my brother and dad we have used the heck out of it and abused it. It's still holding up but I will say that leaving in the weather it will become brittle. They are awesome fishing boats and he will really enjoy it.
