I finaly got some of the new Tipped TSX's in 308 150gr.While I was loading up ten of them yesterday did a little compareing and thought you guys might like seeing a few pics to along with it.

The bullets left to right pic 1-3 below
MRX,TSX,and Tipped TXS

Two items of note here both the the MRX and these Tipeed TSX wear the same color tips.Article in Handloaded said they were going to be "Red",I ssume they wanted to use up the blue ones.LOL
and 2 they also have an extra ring/grooves 4 compared to 3 on these MRX TSX I have,visable in 1 & 2.

Notice the "X" in the bottom of the Tipped TSX on right

Top to bottom Tipped TSX 1.295-5",BTW the others TSX 1.238-5" and MRX 1.215"

Barnes hasn't listed the Tipped TSX BC yet but should be higher than the MRX 0.420 and TSX 0.369 do to the added lenght to my thinking anyway.

BTW My pics takeing and posting still needs some work so I beg your pardon on the quality.

BTW2 The load was H-414 56 grs. Win WLR at a OAL 3.297" for the Tipped TSX (0.050 off lands) and in Nosler Cases.

Did I hear Tim say they might shoot then??? LOL

Model70Man and myself have some 168 and 130 gr TTSX loaded up for our 308s and his 300 WSM, and we also have the 110 TTSX loaded up for his 270, but we havent had a chance to get to the range to see how they shoot. I like the way they look and I like the performance of the TSX, so hopefully they will not dissapoint.

;)

Tiny, I am watching with great interest. You shoot me a 5 shot group with the first number starting with a 6 at 100 yds, and I`ll jump in with both feet.

I`ll then need a boar, elk, moose hunt lined up.

Lets see, MRX bullets.........$1.65 x 5 = $8.25
Powder. .78
Primers .175
Brass $4.00
Total...................................$13.205

For a 5 shot group.

This proves you do love Barnes Bullets.

The scary part is I started thinking about how much $ I have spent on my hobbies......

Tim,
:D

The scary part on this side of the screen is the reasoning I used to get the MRX I got in the first place. Somehow needing about 18$,about half cost per box,to meet a minium order for free shipping made them sound cheaper.

Tiny: Thanks for sharing the info, definitely useful. I was wondering if you could measure all three bullets from the ogive to the base.

Let us know how they do. I shoot the TSX's out of my 25-06, and .300 Win. mag. I have two boxes waiting to be worked up for my 45-70 just for shock and awe factor. They are listed as a flat point but they are actually a hollow point that you could eat cereal out of, hehe.
