Bark Camp Barrens WMA Dove Hunt

I was wondering how the hunt was on Saturday. I have been there before and have done well, but went somewhere else Saturday because of the amount of hunters and it being a Saturday, I figured it would be slammed. Any updates on the field would be appreciated.

It sounded like a war. There was a lot of blood (from birds only; though I did get a little burn when I grabbed my barrel one time ).

195 hunters. Not too crowded for such a large field of about 100 acres -- planted with corn sunflowers and millet from what I saw.

1600 birds taken

Best public hunt I've been to in 30 years. Limited early. They even had burgers, hot dogs and drinks delivered throughout the day to hunters in the field; I think a local church group did the cooking. Awsome! I wasted some bologna sandwiches that day.

Went back Sunday and it was like being on a different planet. we got 10 total between 4 of us, but we still had fun; my daughter killed her first and second bird that day (wish she could of gone to opener).
