it seems SK+ 40 gr at 1054 is enough to take out the fiber optic tv,phone,internet line at 180 yards,,,the target was about 275 and the line wasnt even in the scope,,live and learn I guess,,they said they would put it on my bill, :eek:
 
OUCH! I've been in telecom all my adult life. You may go into cardiac arrest when the bill comes. Depends on whether that have an asshhole repair manager/supervisor.
 
Lol- reminds me of the time I cut the cable to my neighbor's house in the midst of a NBA playoff game he was watching.. Wife and I were planting a shrub in our yard- subdivisions suck.

Sounds like some bad shooting to me,4 million rounds & only 3 hits :D , :mad: hate to see the bill if they do charge you ,
 
some dove hunters shot a fiber optic line here a few years ago.. it didnt get cut in half but somehow the shot broke the like.. I think it was way up in the thousands to get it fixed...
 
When a fiber circuit goes down due to damage by 'others', the responsible party can be charged for lost revenue. Lets say that a circuit carried signal that ultimately converted to carry 1000 long distance calls or other data. That traffic has a known value per minute/hour, etc. You can be billed for the actual repair cost AND the lost revenue during the out of service period. Good luck.
 
If its just a fiber drop that feeds your home or a neighbor, it's not a big deal. If its a main fiber cable that feeds a lot of folks or a lot of circuits that feed a lot of things, things will get pricey if they push the issue. If the line is flat and about an inch wide, it's just a fiber drop. If its round and about the diameter of your pinky or bigger, it's a fiber cable.
