If you had about 500-600 to spend on an autoloader, what would it be? Must be at least 3" chamber, and must be wood stock. No synthetic or camo, and used is not an option. I know the 500-600 will limit the options quite a bit.

Also cannot be a Remington 1100 series...

Note - this isn't for me. :)

Browning gold. They usually have a $100 rebate in the fall. I don't know if you can get it for $600 but it may be close.

I've glanced at a couple but they seem a little out of her budget (christmas present for a friend from his wife)...

Maybe I can talk her into sparing another hundred or two. She's good for it. :)

Or maybe I can talk him out of being a weiner and demanding a semi-auto since he already has an 1100. He'll use this mostly for deer (dog drives in SC) & turkey, so pump wouldn't necessarily be all that bad.

Seeing as how I am a rem fan, and if the 1100 and 11-87 are out of the pic, then how about a 870 wingmaster, not the express but the wingmaster comes in 3 or 3 1/2 and you can get scrollwork on the receiver and nice woodwork too, real sharp looking gun. Probally set you back right around 500 maybe a hair more. If pumps are out, then bite the bullet and go with a browning gold.
