Do you guys have any secrets for cleaning mud from your atv? I rode my new atv yesterday for the 2nd time. The mud that was caked on the tires needed dynamite to remove. I did get a tip from a bud to try Lucas Slick Mist Speed Wax. He said that mud wants to slip off the fenders instead of sticking. I bought a bottle at Autozone for about $10.

Also, my atv dealer urged me to use ethanol free fuel if at all possible along with a fuel stabilizer. You can find gas stations that carry "pure gas" at pure gases.org.

Lastly, have any of you used winches with non-steel rope? I looked at it last night and it sounds like a good deal. I seem to remember the name is amsteel blue.

Spray it down (ATV) with baby oil. It's cheap and helps to keep the rubber parts conditioned, and mud slides off and it's cheap. Tug wells has ethanol free gas but they shore are proud of it $2.99 a gallon but I guess that is cheaper than labor any day.

I use a pressure washer but be careful on stickers and sensitive areas such as wiring. My side by side has tons more spots for mud than my 4-wheeler and its a bear to clean. Just pressure washed it, 18' trailer, and truck on Sunday.

As for gas I only run 93 octane ethanol free in all of my small engines.

I use ethanol free gas in ALL my small engines. And if your engines are being used regularly, Sta-Bil is the stuff to use.

I had a small engine mechanic tell me several years ago to use only 93 octane and Stabil with ethanol treatment year round. I have been doing that religiously and it has really worked. Absolutely zero trouble from any of my equipment.

Little secret with using the pressure washer, do not get to close to the radiator if you have one. It will blow a hole right through it. I have seen this happen. Lots of sensitive parts on these new ones. I don't use a pressure washer just because of all the sensors and electronics as well.

I ran a hot water line to the outside and I use that in the winter and to wash cars. It makes a real difference on mud too.
