AR sling question

This is so elementary, but I cannot seem to come up with a good solution. I recently bought a plain jane 1.25" Blackhawk "tactical sling" for my AR. It is the kind that just loops through the factory sling rings on the AR, but the ends hang loose. I want to be able to adjust this up and down for when I wear different clothing, and for my daughter to be able to use it, so I don't want to cut the long loose ends off. But at the same time I don't want them to just hang loose and flop around. Is there some sort of cheap, easy sling retainer or clip that can be put on this to keep the tag ends out of the way?

I don't mind making something if someone has a DIY option, or using a "rigging" option that is not really intended for this use. My brother suggested electical tape, but I don't want to have to take it off and retape it every time that it is adjusted, nor do I want to have to deal with the "goo" that it leaves behind.

I am sure that someone else has run into this and has a good option.
