Its gonna be one of the 2 and tax returns are almost here. Ive wanted a AR-15 since I layed eyes on one years and years ago but since I started hunting Wayne co. and since it has almost no chance of a "short" shot Im thinkin about putting a 6.5-24 Leupold tactical (tall windage/elevation turrets cause Im picky and they look cool :D ) of some sort on my .300 Win Mag and tinker with it this summer for long shots.

Which should I get? What leupold should I get if thats what I decide on?

I'd go with the AR at this time...

main reason is that you'll always be able to buy a Leupy. You may not very well be able to buy an AR in another few years. Never know what the future holds if we get a democrat for president and a democrat controlled congress!

I was looking at Rock River, is there another AR company I should look at. I dont want to spend to much over a 1,000 Rock River seems a good product at an okay price.

I suggest browsing around www.ar15.com

DPMS makes a very good product. I have no complaints about mine.

I think I'm gonna have to get myself a S&W MP15 sometime soon.

DPMS was my 2nd choice.

Colt "would" be the first choice but that's a lot of money.

I would snatch up an AR also...never know what the new election will hold as to our gun laws! The only thing I worry about is if the gun-grabbing liberals pass a law that requires ALL semi-autos to be turned in regardless of manufacture date or model. That's something to consider when laying down a grand on a scope or rifle. Funny part is you would be more dangerous to the law-makers with a glassed 300 WM than with a ready AR...distance is your friend in that scenario.
