Apprentice license

I have a 15 year old neighbor kid that wants to go bear hunting with me next week. He said that he's completed the online class but, hasn't been able to make it to the shooting part of the exam yet.

He will need the Apprentice license along with his big game gun and cherrokee permit. Am I forgetting anything?


Also, last year there was a link to the current harvest data by WMA and/or county which I found very neat. I can't seem to find it anymore. Is TWRA still doing this again this year.

In addition to the Apprentice License, he will need the following:

Type 002 Jr. Hunt/Fish/Trap license and either the Cherokee or Type 94 permit. If he will be hunting on any Special Season Antlerless hunts later in the year, the Type 94 covers those plus nonquota WMA big game hunts. And, in addition to the licenses, he will need the 500 sq" of blaze orange on upper body and head.

Remember that with the Apprentice License he has to have an adult over the age of 21 who meets the HS requirements who can take immediate control of his hunting weapon at ALL TIMES.

I don't know anything about the data links. Please give the Wildlife Div. a call on those.
