I saw a forkhorn buck as I walked in at 6:30 - we had a stare down for a minute then I went on and left him out in the field. About 8:00 I saw two does run by looking as if something was after them and that got my hopes up. Less than a minute later I assume the same two does ran by from a different direction. I think they had just made a big circle. About 10 minutes later a large body deer came walking along on the trail the does had run on and it had it's head to the ground smelling their scent. I assume it was a buck trailing them. I was feeling good at this point since if it continued to follow the path the does had taken, it would walk right in front of my blind at about 40 yards. But it never came by. If I had sat in the other blind, I would have been right there when he came by. But the wind was wrong for that blind anyway. I sat until 10:00 then got up and went to the house, got my truck and came back to pick up all my blinds and call it a year! It's been my best year ever for the number of bucks I've seen in spite of not shooting one.
