I am looking for a couple of boxes of the Managed Recoil in 30-30 and can't find them anywhere. I wished that I would have bought them last year but had no idea that they would become scarce. My son will be old enough to go on the juvenile hunt this year, and I am determined to customize my 30-30 which I killed my first deer with to fit him.

Ask a reloading friend to load some for you-and it will be cheaper too.

I thought of that, but my only problem is that I don't know any one that reloads. I may end up having to take it up myself.

130gr Speer Hot Core or a 125gr Sierra HP ahead of a moderate dose of H4895 or IMR3031 would be the cat's pajamas for a reduced load in the .30-30.

never seen no 3030 reduced, sling shot & rocks come to mind lol

Good one. I didn't know a 30/30 had much recoil. What about smaller bullet? I remember when I first went on juvenile I was 10 or 11 and my uncles old 30/06 left a dent in my shoulder, lol. How old is he?

He will be 6 this year. I know there are probably some smaller calibers for him right now but want him to kill his first deer with the same gun that I did. The 125 grain bullet will definitely help.
