another Glock followed me home...

I went out looking for a Springfield XD-S .45 today. Found several, but none that were fairly priced (in my opinion). With all of the hoopla going on, nobody was willing to budge much on prices. Heck, the way guns are selling, they don't have to budge!

At the end of the day, I went back to one particular shop to see if they could order one (they didn't have it in stock when I checked this morning). A G17 caught my eye. I've been wanting one for a while, but there are other things I want first.

I told him to give me his best price on the G17... cash...

He surprised me with his answer and 20 minutes later I was walking out the door with it.

I guess I'll be waiting a while on the XD-S!

When I went in first today, I talked to a younger guy who told me there wasn't much, if any, wiggle room in the prices.

When I went back the second time, I spoke to a different guy. Judging by the newspaper clipping on the counter, he was one of the owners. He was a very nice guy. I asked him about his best price on the XD-S if he ordered it for me, and he couldn't match the price at Reloader's Bench in Mt Juliet.

That one is just called The Gun Shop.. Or Lebanon Gun Shop.. I can't remember which. Their Glock prices are a little steep. They were nice folks though. He said he sells the XD-S for $550, which beats the next best price I found by $20. He just doesn't know when he will get another one in. Said it could be any day.

There is also The Armory over by Lowes. I didn't care for that place quite as much. The guy seemed to just assume I knew nothing about guns and I felt like he was talking down to me.

I believe it is called Lebanon Gun Shop. Only been in there once and they were very nice. Needed a part for dad's shotgun and didn't really do a lot of looking. If the Armory is the one on hwy 231 opposite Walmart then I've been in it once. Seemed high to me. Reloader's Bench seems to have improved. I used to not be able to go in there due to they smoked like a freight train but they've stopped that.

i carry xd-45 and love it,bit bulky but 14 .45 rounds at my side,well worth it.second is a smith and wesson .40,sig 9mm,sig 380,sw .38,.they all will get the job done

I carried a G33 for awhile. Loved that gun but decided to trade it off to consolidate calibers. I wish now I would have held on to it. .357 Sig is an awesome round, No doubt.

I like all Glocks. If I could only own one it would be the G23 probably. Or maybe the G19.

I've never owned, or even shot one in 357 Sig.

I got 1,000 pieces of Speer brass free,I load the 124 XTP with enough Blue Dot to get 1420 fps from a 4 inch barrel..but I do carry the S&W 442 Airweight a lot more of the time,,
