Had to wait till after dark for 3 does to move out from under me so I could come down without spooking them. In the middle of the woods and they feed out in front of me for over an hour, till dark. 😊

Great pic. Sounds like a good afternoon.

They get where I can't see or hear them, but are often still around. We got to where my wife and I will text each other if we are stuck. Ride past the stand on the 4 wheeler so the deer focus on the 4 wheeler while the other person climbs down. A benefit to living on the farm we hunt.

Great eve...

Another trick... when you want to get down, but deer are in the area, blind them with your flashlight (if it's a high power one)... they will lightly spook off, not associating the location of the light with the stand. Then climb down and leave. Probably not technically legal, but works well, and certainly better than climbing down with 10 deer watching you climb down and spooking off.

Heck I thought they had moved on and I started to move to stand up and here came one right in front of me at 20 yards, didn't see her at all till she raised her head real quick at my slight foot shuffle and I froze LOL she looked for a few seconds then kept feeding on across in front of me and at about 40 yards I couldn't see her anymore. Waiting a couple more minutes then started down real quiet like. I never heard them run or blow, but I know they were watching 👀 😂

Love it. Can't get out again until Saturday, likely in the rain prior to wind shift!

But last Saturday zero dark thirty hiking in and the stars were incredible. Took some moments to take in God's/the universe's beauty.

She just thought you were the biggest coon she'd ever seen come down out of a tree after dark 😄

The bad part about them does watching you is that they remember !!! I had a stand in a little intersection and them does saw me getting down one night . The next day i put another stand up across the way . Dont you know when them deer came out , they looked right up at that stand . Saw i wasn't in it and came prancing out . WHACK !!!! Got me another one !!!

I was hunting early Nov behind the house and had 6 does in the field. I text a few buddy's and told them "great I have does in the field and either have to spook them or wait them out all night". Knowing what they had been doing they were liable to stay in the food plot for hours or not even leave. Wife wasn't home to drive back there to get me and run them off like that and one buddy said start howling like a coyote. At that point I really wasn't worried if I spooked them or not but started howling like a coyote. It probably sounded like a coyote getting molested by a 5 legged bobcat but they eventually moved off slowly 😂

Last time I had deer around me at dark, I pulled up youtube and played coyotes howling - you never saw deer tear out so fast. With no blowing 😅 😅
