Well took my annual trip to Texas to hunt with my Dad. This year was the hardest year I've ever hunted Texas ( been hunting there since 2017 ) we hunted for 3 days and it was the last morning when it all came together. I set up on these two birds on the way to roost and ran out of time but the hens roosted beside me at 20 yards and the long beards at 60. Left at 9 pm in complete darkness and came back 45 min before day light. It worked perfect the two Tom's pitched down and walked right down the road like I had hoped. Shot the first one with my 410 at 15 yards then picked up my 20 and shot the 2nd at 40 yards. It was a tough trip but I did kill my biggest Rio to date. He has a 10-1/2 , 8-1/4 and a 7 inch beard and the 2nd bird has a 10-5/8 beard. Can't thank the Lord enough for another successful trip and time spent hunting with my dad. This bird is definitely going to the taxidermist!!
