The ones I'm seeing have material over your ankle bone and the barrel rests against the material. Is that comfortable or does it take a little getting use to?
Let me know what you use
I carried a J-frame in one for years. Don't remember the name but it was just a leather thumb break holster with a big Velcro strap on it. It wasn't really uncomfortable, just felt weird and I was conscious of it all the time at first, but I got use to it after a while.
It's not fast, and it's an obvious draw. But it works if other carry options don't, or if it's a back-up.
Galco ankle glove is what I have. Wore one for my backup gun (glock 27) for several years. Walking, foot pursuits, getting in and out of patrol car several times a day..... the pistol never fell out, thumb break never came un-snapped. Very comfortable. I never used the leg garter support. Just wore the ankle holster.
A police instructor told me once when I was asking him about carrying on my ankle to fake a heart attack an fall on your back . That will give you enough time to get it out of your holster. He also said to keep your knees out of the way.
