Set up about 25 yards inside the treeline where a field comes into a holler. Wss calling this morning with no responsed what so ever. About 35 min passes and could see 3 in the field. They nade there way into the trees towards me. Close enough I would have been inches shy of grabbing 2 by the neck. All were hens though. No sign of thier big tom or any jakes.

I'm hoping so. It started coming down hard here, so i packed on out and left. no more movement in a few hours. I'll be back at it sometime this week when i get rained out of work.
For not knowing much about turkey hunting, it was definatly some learning experience.

I had a hen fly down and land about 5 yards in front of me on opening morning of 2011, my first time turkey hunting alone... I've had hens come pretty darn close and they are very good at busting you too. Keep at it, ole long beard or mr. jake will show up at some point
