Almost ready

I am almost ready to start handloading. I have all the equipment and brass and bullets but was waiting on a good powder for my needs to come along at a good price and I found some H4350 for $25 a pound so I grabbed 3. Still need some small piddly stuff to complete my setup but pretty much there. Right now I'm going to be loading 25/06. I figured out how much I spent on a box of 20 factory and how much to load the same bullets and I'll be saving about 15 bucks a box. I never flinch when pulling the trigger from recoil only from the impact on my wallet. The 25 seems a lot more expensive to shoot than a 30/06 or a 308 by retail prices. I guess because it's not as common. This should make it a lot more wallet friendly.

I feel like a kid at Christmas time. This has been long time interest of mine but I just never set it all up. Now I need to put together a bench. I'll ask some specific questions in another post about that.

I'll be ready to reload in about a other month. Just bought me a used single stage press and set of dies from a member on here. Then next month i'll buy the rest of the equipment.Then i'll be reloading for my 30-06

Oh yes it seems the bullets for a 25-06 is more then 30-06 for some reason. I guess that why not many people hunt with them because of the price of the ammo and stuff.

I have a bunch of bullets on hand. I have Sierra 90gr hpbt, 100gr sp bt, and 75gr for the varmints. Also have 120gr hp Hornady and some 100gr Corelokt Remingtons. If the Remingtons work out I'll stick with that since I have more of that than anything.

I too like the 117 SST. I was using the Hornady Superformance with them and they are fairly accurate in my gun.
