bout that time of year I can't get it off my mind. Plenty of fishing left to do in the mean time, been itching for some walleye lately (caught a short one on Normandy the other day). but everytime I look outside in the woods I just want to be in a tree with a bow. Didn't help seeing the doe walk through the backyard. I want to hang stands, scout more, climb a tree and draw back and shoot one in the armpit. Bust out the gambrel and hang it in the garage and skin it out and proceed with the tradition. I guess I still got some old deer meat in the freezer I need to cook up. Gotta find another box to smoke some shoulders in. Maybe it will hold me over until late Setpember.

Got cabin fever Saturday so I loaded up some 30-06 ammo and on Sunday cleaned my rifles. Looked around the garage for a hunt camp project but didn't think of any. Read 4 old hunt magazines that I didn't have time for during hunting season. Come on hunting season!

I am looking forward to that as well. But even more so, dove opener, since seeing a whole bunch of doves while mountain biking a trail on public land the other day.
