Accessibility to LBL

First, let me say I am not looking for any "secret" spots just places that are safe for smaller craft to start scouting. I have applied for multiple draw hunts (fingers crossed) and those all look small craft accessible. I will do required scouting when the time comes to start hunting I am simply curious about access to the LBL/Big Sandy areas in smaller craft. My two options are a 12' kayak with a 2.3hp engine and a 12' john boat with a 6hp engine. It will probably be mainly my dog and I but my wife or daughter (not together, no room for both) may tag along depending on the weather.

So my question is what are the places that aren't "big water" where I may get in over my head with the smaller craft. I was in the Waverly, TN area and noticed what looked like flooded timber and the Duck river looks fairly safe. Big SandyWMA area seems decent but there appear to be lots of blinds and I don't want to get in anyone's way. I have only been on the big lake at LBL and would not feel comfortable with either craft on the lake.

There is the jump shoot area at Camden Bottoms as well. I have not hunted the Duck, but I have friends who have. They say that river can get down right dangerous if conditions go south, and they have a tendency to do that in a hurry, without a lot of warning. I'd skip it in a small craft, just for safety sake.

From where it hits the Tennessee River almost all the way to bakerville Bridge, paintrock, the Duck River is federal on both sides

Ducks, I have a 1-year-old Chessie and this is his first season. With a rookie dog and my minimal duck hunting skill, I hoping for a few birds a day and to stay out of everyone's way.

it is hard to explain,and tell you where to go,but there is a walk in area at bear creek,if you have a boat,you can go to Gatling point.you can camp there,has good water and a lot of duck draw blinds.but bear creek would be my choice....you can text me,but calling me would be the best.my # 731-363-1498.i can explain it better,also get a lbl map.very important.i can show you on that map many places to duck hunt by boat,by truck and walk in area.

I would hop blinds in the bottoms. You can always get a seat somewhere after the opener.

Even going to LBL for spring turkey and fall deer for several years now. I'd love some information on getting on some ducks or geese.
