I want to set up a good load for my 7MM Mag and was wondering if any of you have done any loading for a 7 Mag and what you had the best results with.

my favorite load for my 7mm's is the following:

162 grain Hornady Interlock BTSP
66.0 grains H4831
CCI 250 Primers
Winchester brass

I love this load, it is deadly. Might want to work up to the 66 grains.

I use either 68gr. RL22 under the 150 Nosler Ballistic Tip with Federal 215M primers or 71gr. RL22 under the 120 Nosler Ballistic Tip ....all in Winchester Cases. My other 7mm likes a little lighter load of only 65 grains with the 150.

Here's that 150 grain load at 200 yards....

And here's the 120 grain load at 100 yards....

+ 1 on the RL22 I used it with the 140gr Nosler Ballistic Tip. I like the idea of the 150 gr. though. 140 Ballistic tips made me nervous on deer. Everyone that I ever shot was DRT, but I just worried the wouldn't hold up.

Depends on your hunting situation.

IF you are hunting long range bean field shots, shoot what you want.

IF you are hunting close up woods, shoot a tougher less expansive bullet or load down your expanding bullets.

Hit a deer at 40 yds with a 150gr ballistic tip and see how much meat you waste.

Im shooting the 162gr Hornady BTSP interlock at around 2850fps. over IMR 4350. Super accurate. Excellent performance on deer without blowing them to pieces. Good expansion but the bullet and core can separate on shots under 50 yards. Deer is dead, but not blown in half like a ballistic tip.

Im curious and might try the 120's some time.
I know they have a thicker jacket than normal.

Not sure if I have any real reason to change though. Getting great performance from my load.
