I have caught them at KY lake but never in a TWRA lake.
I have heard different reasons why they have the stripe but really have no clue why.
Anyway just interesting that this was the first one I have caught there.

Twra put them in lakes as its easier to tract them, i forgot where they come from normally but its another state , want to say Arkansas but I probably wrong , cant taste no difference though

These fish seem to like shallower waters than their cousins, especially in the summer months, perhaps making them a good target for people fishing from the bank.

We have them in Norris. Don't catch as many as we used to, but still not uncommon to hook one. They stocked them fairly heavily several years ago it seemed, as we were catching lots of smaller size ones. Don't know if the still do.
