Any body hunt with a 99? Took this spike today with my 99 in 250-3000 caliber.

I traded into one in 243 few years back. Never hunted with it but always have plans to if I ever want to try hunting with open sights.

I'd love to own one. They are truly a thing of beauty, and are chambered in some real cool calibers.

The epitome of panache.

a friend of mine has one that somebody reamed the factory bbl out to 250 AI 40* shoulder that I would love to have but he wont price it at all,,it shoots the 100 NBT really well and is pretty fast,,it shoots the 100 gr bullets faster than the standard case shoots the 87s,,it has nice wood also,,

I always wanted one but just never got around toit. I remember the first one I ever saw was on the gun rack for sale guns at Porter Walker Hardware in Columbia. That was probably way back in the 1960s. I was just a kid and certainly couldn't afford it and, besides that, there weren't no deer to hunt.

Wow,i,m live in Columbia and I remember Porter and Walker, it was a big hardware store on the square up town .

Yep, that was back in the day when hardware stores were hardware stores...lol. I bought my first rifle with my own hard earned money from Ted's Army Surplus just below the square on South Main. It was a Savage 65M 22 mag. I was probably no more than 14 or in15 years old. Killed a few groundhogs and a squirrel or two with that gun.
