7mm-08 factory ammo

I was able to get out to he range today and shoot my Tikka Lite today. You guys were right. Way less recoil than my previous favorite rifle. My shoulder thanks you.

I shot the following for groups at 100 yards.

140g Rem Core Lokt
140g Federal Fusion
140g Federal Nosler BT
140g Federal Barnes Triple Shock
140g Prvi Paritzan
139g Hornady SST
139g Hornady SP

It was really close between the Federal Nosler BT and the Federal Fusion but the Federal Fusion won the best group award by a very slim margin. I certainly can't complain about a .5" group vs a .625" group though.

If and when I can find some I want to try a 120g to see what they will do but for now 140g Federal Fusions are going to woods.

Hey mjac, i told you those fusions were good shooters. I really like the 120 grains better. Call Dicks sporting goods in maryville, they usually carry them and if they have them in stock let me know

I purchased the one and only box of Federal Fusion 120g available at Dunhams in Athens today. In fact it was the only 7/08 they had. I have no plans to contact Dicks for now but thanks for the tip.

Shot this doe yesterday with a 140gr core lokt. Never been a core lokt fan but i bought the gun used and they came with it. Scoped it and sighted it in with the core lokt and thought i would give them a try. This is the exit hole. 70 yard shot. Somehow she managed to run about 60 yards with a great blood trail. Believe ill stick with them.

I never claimed to be the smartest person in the U.S. But no way i'd ever shoot one with a rifle during mz season and post it on a public forum. There is deer seasons and deer in other states :D
