anyone shoot the 120 barnes VOR-TX ammo out of there 7mm-08? Just curious how the 120 grain does from the gun as far as grouping and what not. Im wanting to shoot accubonds but was very curious about this shell as well

I've shot 6 or 8 rounds of it out of my 700Ti. I wasn't shooting for my best group, but I did pick up a box of TTSX bullets to reload with. They'll be a good zippy load with full power, and I'm going to load some managed recoil with them. This will be my third caliber using these bullets. Good stuff.

Some advice-

I love barnes bullets and load them in every gun I have. However, the factory barnes I shot was hit or miss.

Find some Federal Fusions.

I reload, but that is the most accurate factory ammo I have ever shot.

Shot less than moa for me in a 270 wsm, 7 wsm, 300 wsm, 7.08, 223, and .243.

In .243, I quit loading for that one gun because the Fusions were shooting about 1/4-3/8 moa.

Good luck-

Fusions are good ammo and I shoot them from my 243. Just want something different in this fun is all

great bullet will kill all day

as far as accuracy there is not one on this forum that can say they will shoot great in YOUR set up

buy and try

i recommend factory ammo with a 120 nbt or the 120 fusion

Understood on MY gun. Just curious as for others using the 120 grain Barnes factory ammo

2-2.5" groups out of my brothers tikka compact when I shot it last week with that ammo. It's a fast load, over 3000 fps. The hornady superformace shot better for his gun. He plans to do like others have said. Buy Barnes bullets and work up a load.

My daughter shoots them out of her ruger compact. It shoots a freaking ragged hole. It's unbelievable. My wife shoots them out of her encore and they shoot about an inch group. I been buying them up a little at a time. I got plenty if u need 3 to try before you purchase. Just let me know bro. We will work it out.

Agreed 100%

If a rifle will not shoot federal fusions, there is a great chance it won't shoot worth #%*+ with any handloads. I found the same thing with my Kimber .243, around 0.5 MOA which made me debate on even hand loading for it. I still did, but at least there is always a commercial option available if I get lazy on loading for it.

I have a little field test data to report. I used my 700Ti and Vor-Tx 120 gr TTSX to shoot these two critters today. Both were heart shot and ran about 30 yards before piling up. I'm a happy camper.

I tried reloading with the 120 ttsx in my tikka but couldnt ever good steller results. Both of my tikka's haven't liked barnes bullets. I prefer .5moa at 100 yards.
