357 for deer? Update

Should be just fine. I've killed a couple with my 6" revolver. Energy is way overrated. A bullet that will expand and penetrate will kill quick.

Wife doesn't really want to shoot my 30-06, can't really get the 243 sighted in. I do have a single shot 357 , would be woods so probably 50 yards or less.
My ruger 77/357 has taken quite a few deer all cleanly, but always limit shots to about 75 yards. Been using the Buffalo bore loads. They are awesome.
 
2 shots at 70 yards , think I pulled the first, second hit center.
