Wanting to try something different. Was looking around at magnum calibers and was thinking about a wsm. I ran across the 338 RCM in my digging. Offered a guy on eBay $40 for new Redding dies and he took it. CDNN has the Ruger Hawkeye all weather 22" barrel $399. Found brass easy enough. Trigger spring from Ernie the gunsmith. Now to get it here, lap the rings in and install the scope. Not setting my expectations high. Should put a nice hole in a deer though.

I bought one on closeout a couple weeks ago from CDNN. I just got rhe metal back from cerakote and waiting on stock to be hydro dipped. I'll share load data and results if you want to. Mine is also stainless and has 22" barrel.

Here's the metal back, didn't do the bolt as i don't like how it wears off on the bolt.

The scope rings I just put on to keep up with them, yes they are on backwards!

Yes, rings lapped and Leupold installed. Might be a couple weeks before I get a chance to shoot it. Coyote hunting next weekend.

I am also going to foam fill the hollow butt of the stock. It is hollow all the way to the action.
