Does anyone load any 3006 ammo ? I'm looking to load up some 180 or 200 gr bullets for my encore. I have been looking at nosler. What do you all like in the 30 cal. Round?

I load 150 gr Nosler Ballistic Tips and Nosler accubonds in my 06. Ballistic tips for testing and accubonds for hunting. They have the same ballistic coefficient and perform similarly ballistically, but the accubond is bonded and better suited for hunting , as it holds together better and gives good terminal performance, whereas the ballistic tips have been known to shatter on impact at closer ranges.

This, 150gr NBT, been shooting that load since the early 80's.

I have found 165 gr accubonds to be a sweet spot for me. The top pic is 5 shots of Choice Ammunitin and the bottom pic is 3 shots of 165 gr AB's over 57 grains of H4350 that Davidk loaded up for me.

Re: 3006 bullets

165 NAB does most of my hunting. I load some 165 NBT for practice to save a few bucks. 165 really does seem to be the "sweet spot" for 30-06.

If you are dead set on 180s, then I would duplicate the same as above with that weight.

Of course, if you are only hunting deer then a NBT will likely do just fine for you.

Nosler 150 grainers--Partitions or Accubonds's--in my Browing A-Bolt on top of 59 grains of IMR4350 in R-P brass with Fed210M's starting the party. They are 5 to7 off the lands.

My Chrony Master blue tells me 3015 FPS.

This load does indeed cup primers but no bolt lift or brass issues.

For deer in the 30/06, 150 grain bullets just seem to be perfect. You can go with any of the bonded bullets and certainly be set, but most cup and core bullets do very well. Same for the .308.
