Hey guys, a couple of years back, I asked for advice here on a load for 165 gr. accubonds and got great advice to use around 57 grains of H4350. My buddy David K loaded me up a bunch and the pic below is indicative of how the load shoots. This group was at 200 yards.

Now, I have found myself with a qty. of 150, 180 grain, 30 cal accubonds and 2 lbs of H4350. Anyone have any good recipes for this combo out of a 30-06? I need to put him back to work :)

Starting load is probably around 53gr of H4350, but check the Nosler and Hodgdon websites to be sure. Max will likely be 55gr.

I use 56.6gr of I4350 with a 180 NAB. RL26 gave me GREAT velocity with that bullet, but spiked in pressure quickly when temperatures started to rise.

Give me some details and I'll run a load for you tomorrow.
1) Barrel length bolt face to muzzle
2) COAL at .020" off the lands.
3) weigh primed brass, fill with water, weigh again and post the difference.
4) bullet weight, manufacturer, model
5) list all powders you'd like to try.

Hmm. Browning A-Bolt circa 1985.
150 gr Accubond or Partition
59 gr IMR4350
Fed 210M primer
R-P brass
Still under 9/10 of an inch after over 2500 rounds at least down the tube.

I actually load 60 gr of 4350 but that is over the max. Do get some cratered primers.

I am around 007 off lands and yep its a two shot rifle. I doan care, never needed a second shot.

TN you need some IMR slide by I have some I can lend out.

I appreciate the offer but only have one powder and if I can't use it for the 180's,I just use it for the 165's that I know it will work for.

I'm guessing 55 to 55.5 gr of H4350 would be a good starting point
Checking my data and 56.5 is listed as max with the 180...and since the 165's shot so well at just under max (which was about 57.5 grains),
I'll load you a few each at 55.6, 55.8 and 56 grains and see how they work for you. I'll load them at the same COL and feel pretty sure we'll find one you like.
