What ammo do y'all like in your 30-30's? Never had one but picking one up from a member here in a couple weeks and wondering what folks are shooting out of them. In my .243 and .270 I shoot Federal Fusions and like them and see they have a 150-grain in them.

Any ammo you buy that is standard sp and 150-170gr will do the trick. Put the bullet where it counts and you will have meat in the freezer.

I shoot Winchester super x or Hornady American whitetail

Handloads mostly, but Winchester Power Points are hard to beat.

Whichever weight your rifle likes best is what I'd go with, but when I'm hunting deer I usually stick with 150's, and 170's for hogs and bears.

I shoot core lokts but i wanted to see what the buzz was about those leverrevolutions was all about . I bought a box and went to shootin. Holy sheeeeeet them things shot 14" high at 100 yrds and didn't group worth a sheeeeeet either . I couldn't adjust the elevator enough to get em in the center . Needless to say the remainder of the box is in the closet with all the other expierimental ammo .
In summary ….. stick with what works 🧐

I shoot federal fusion out of mine. I like the federal fusion and use it in all of my rifles as well. This reminds me I need to sight in my 30-30. I put a new scope on it 4 years ago and still have not sighted it in.

I have had the same experience in two different lever 30-30s. They do shoot well in my sons 45-70. 150 grain power points for me but I have a new single shot that really seems to like the 170 grain power points.

The only thing my Marlin with group with is 150gr Winchester Power Points. And I have tried everything imaginable.

When I hunted with a .30-30, I started with 170 gr. Corelokts. But, later handloader 170 gr. Interlocks and 150 gr. Speer Hotcors.

I got a new dnz mount for my 336 30-30. Since it has to be sighted in anyway, i'm going to change ammo around since varying brands are more available now. Been shooting 150grn corelokts since thats all i was finding during covid, and it seemed to work fine on the few does i shot with them. I keep seeing high fragmentation in the leverevolution bullets in ballistics gel videos, so i'm going to try federal fusion or hammer down (bonded) and hope it likes it. Unsure of the weight, but i'll probably stick with a 150grn
