25-26 Duck reports

Has anyone started to see big ducks working their way down yet? Drove to Arkansas last weekend and saw a good amount of birds...just wondering if TN is getting any yet.

I saw some hooded merganzers, so some dux are on the move.

Was in to NW TN Wednesday evening and did not see a duck. Saw some geese. I'm sure there's several hanging out at Reelfoot.

Saw maybe 30 last sun eve near whites lake. A few teal, mallards

I don't know a thing about ducks or geese but the first shot of real cold air up north is settling in.

Drove to Brinkley yesterday. Only saw a handful.

No big groups, but seen lots of local wood ducks out moving today.

Numbers increasing in Arkansas. Listened to a bunch of gadwall and mallards while in the stand near cotton plant yesterday. I wouldn't say more then normal but ths front will bring some more. Water conditions are on the dry side so a good rain will certainly draw the birds.

Fair numbers of early mallards are showing up at Cumberland City

Adjusting water levels this morning at Cumberland City very impressive numbers for the date and a good variety as well.

This is not a duck report, but a weather report.

There looks to be several snowstorms from Thanksgiving through the month of December for Upper Midwest and Midwest. Snowfall if hard to forecast, but it appears confidence is increasing that a lot of snow will be coming to the North, and that should mean good numbers of ducks coming down to the south.

My reports say Reelfoot has good numbers as usual, South Missouri, bootheel has good numbers, especially this early.

I'm hearing a lot of ducks down in the duck club impoundments before daylight (near Unit 4, TN National).

European model has a lot of snow across the upper Mississippi over the next two weeks, and a solid snow across MO and IL Dec 4. GFS model has heavy snows through IA and WI over the next 2 weeks, but does not have the MO/IL snow in it's forecast.

A very cold December is a pretty good bet considering the stratospheric warming seen during November.

Probably saw a total of 15 wood ducks at Cheatham lake this weekend, no big ducks. Extremely slow.

I deer hunted along the MS River in Lauderdale County all day yesterday and heard a good many volleys from 6:30 - 10:30, but last volley was around noon. A good bit of shooting at various locations/distances, more than I expected for this time of year. Not sure if it means anything or not, and/or if it was all woodies and scrap ducks, but sharing incase it helps anyone here. Good luck to all the duck hunters.

Hunting near Whites Lake, killed 26 Sat. 25 today. Not seeing alot, but most working decent. Slow but steady.

The cold weather certainly didn't help. Hardly saw anything.
