Guys I have wanted a 220 swift for years and I am considering a rebarrel. I want a slow twist so I can shoot the highest bc bullets i suppose a 1:7 -1:9 twist. My question is will this work well and how much should a rebarrel cost me. I think it will be an awesome rifle if it will work with the heavy 80-90 grain .224bullets. Thanks guys.

I dont know what it would cost to build,,but I would love to see what it would do,,

if you could accurately push the 80 gr Berger to 33-3400 fps it would be a banjo string,

Most competent gunsmiths will charge around $150 to chamber, headspace, and install the barrel.

Add another $350 or so for a nice custom bbl itself.

so you're looking at around $500 to rebarrel.

GA Precision does nice work... my last barrel install only took 6 weeks... and I spent a few extra dollars to have them true the action as well while it was there.
