Deer movement has been great the past few days ! I love hunting a full moon. Has anyone seen any scrapes popping up? I shot this doe
10 yards from a very active scrape and there was a buck right behind her. Earliest I ever recall finding a scrape. The woods also had that November smell to it if anyone knows what I mean. A tarsal gland smell.

Congratulations! I love getting in the action early! You said you love hunting a full moon...why do you like it so much and how do you adjust your hunting to capitalize on the moon phase?

I've always had very good luck when it's a full moon and the moonrise or moon set are within an hour so of dark. Some may think it's hogwash but I'm a firm believer that the moon has a lot to do with deer movement especially during late and early season. When I see the full moon and moonrise within a hour of dark I get fired up. I also see a lot more buck activity when it's full moon. Also always hunt evening on a full moon. UNLESS the rose and set is close to daybreak. Hope this makes sense

Killed a doe yesterday morning after seeing 17 deer by 0830. Found a nice scrape line with 6 good size scrapes and several small rubs. I figure its from a group of small bucks as the first 4 deer I seen were forky's and 5 pointers that all took the same path!
Nephew had a 7 pt pushing couple doe around this morning and I had another 7 pt show up with 2 mature doe and a yearling. He was 5 on one side with a main beam and just a brow tine on the other.
Been a great weekend for movement.
Congrats on your kill!

Congrats! Yes I've seen a few scrapes. Usually start seeing them around late September. Not sure when I saw the first one this year
