I have a Series 1 Kimber Classic Stainless. Shoots great, 100% reliable thus far and looks good. My favorite pistol I own. I had a Custom II that I sold a few years ago that shot well too. I really like the Dan Wesson 1911s as well. Hard to beat the Springfield and S&W 1911s as well.

My 1911 experience is with a Sig GSR Revolution Nitron. The pistol was 100% reliable and the most pleasant pistol I've ever shot. I ended up trading it because I never shot it and it was too heavy for me to carry comfortably.

That's what I have and love shooting it.... very accurate.... but I am pondering selling it to move onto new things...

good taste stik i carry the ultra carry also and the colt officer model .45
love my Ultra Carry II. Shoots & carries really well.

i call the kimber my American Express - don't leave home without it ;)

i'm still getting to know the .45 but i like it so far. it shoots a bit below point of aim and i haven't really taken the time to sight in the laser.

stik,
i don't know if it's the compact model or what but my full size .45 i shoot fine but the compact models i shoot a little low.

it's not really a compact but not full size either. all the reviews i have seen commented on them hitting below point of aim for most shooters.

You might want to try changing out the front blade. Brownell's sell them in different heights.
