Neck looks to small for that rack, it's huge!
He is 23" wide when measured correctly for B&C and it's actually a 19" neck, measured tight behind the ears. Which is "big" for a true velvet deer, I'm sure come the rut he would have blown up to 23"+. It's amazing how skinny the necks are on velvet deer.
Deer is at least 6.5 based on trail cams and sightings, according to the hunter.

Great buck, and great taxi work too. August buck hunt? Archery or gun?
Yes, August archery. Pretty sure it was a vertical bow, too.

I measured 182" when he brought him in. Couple weeks back the official came over and I believe got 184 5/8".
Couple points I had no idea on how to measure with that velvet so I went conservative.

He was killed in Dickson County. He is listed on the Tn Deer Registry at 175 5/8. His gross score is 185 5/8. 2022 velvet hunt. 2nd largest velvet hunt buck to date by 1/2". Largest Dickson County deer to date by any method.

Great buck. Did you have the velvet freeze dried, or did you inject them? If injected, does that solution stink?
I actually started tanning these TN velvet deer. Think of it as a submerged solution. Actually smells good.

I've yet to get one in that you could inject. All the veins are dried up by end of August it seems.

I've spent a lot of money on freeze dried antlers over the years, tanning them (at this stage in velvet) does just as good as job, if not better.

Just friends mainly. Although the definition of friends in the taxidermy world is a little bigger than normal social groups.

Kinda like the friend who has a pressure washer😀
I don't shoot big enough deer so I just use a pressure washer on them and toss them on the garage wall🤣

I will let you borrow my pressure washer if you will do Taxidermy for me! But first of all I have to get a buck worthy of being mounted, that's the hard part.
