Never had this happen before but I shot right in the armpit through the top of the heart and she didn't go 2 feet.

Gave her to some folks down the road who I came across on Facebook and they make jerky to hand out to the homeless and give to the food bank. Since the usual processor I donate to won't take donations at this time of year (full cooler) I figured this would be a good cause since they directly give to the needy.

Need any help tracking it?
it was a tough one as I didn't have but 1 spot of blood at the point of impact, then nothing at all for almost 3 feet. Caught me by surprise when I found her just laying there dead. Went back and reviewed footage and saw it was a good shot.

Congrats Cat. I bet you're getting pretty strong after dragging all of these out!

Hey I just noticed. Why do you lower your gun muzzle down?

I do that too. If the line breaks I feel like it will go down muzzle to the ground. this way if the gun discharged it will not be pointing back up at me. Of course the gun is on safety, but that could fail.

I'd highly recommend clearing the chamber and never relying on the safety while raising of lowering a rifle with a rope. That would scare the crud out of me to do it even one time regardless of which way the muzzle is pointed.

Oh congratulations on the doe, Catman! I wrote out a longer post of congratulations but it got lost and don't feel like doing it again.

thank you... Yes I leave the muzzle pointed down for safety. Since the ground is so hard packed and dry I'm not worried about plugging the barrel. Normally though I tie the rope midway so the gun is more level.
