Found a match from last year. Really surprised these didn't get picked up during deer season, lots of people in and out of this particular area.

Seen two still holding on today as well. Seems like they are holding on to them tight this year.

Middle Tn Wilson County. The bucks don't loose their antlers until the last doe is bread. I watched a nice buck on a doe that was ready. He wouldn't get very far from her maybe 20 yards. He was a big 5 on one side and it looked like 3 or 4 stunted on the other. He also had a limp from his front left leg. He didn't like me there but wouldn't leave that doe. We've had fawns around us fresh dropped in July.

Last year we had quite a few in early to mid January drop. Never good. This year they are holding tight. Like normal.
I've been texting with AT about this very thing. I almost always find some in January and February, but haven't found the first one this year.

The abundance of acorns has helped the herd tremendously. It has saved many bucks' lives this year due keeping them in the woods. They rutted hard and still pushing does around. I saw about 15 bucks this weekend. One was completely shed and two had one side. Mid to late March will have sheds being tossed left and right. Unfortunately, we're expecting an early green up this spring.

I went hikiing around this weekend about 16 miles and not one shed yet.

I'm hopeful this next 1-2 weeks will start to find sheds.

Hoping to hike/ ruck 100+ miles this year in multiple hikes/rucking trips. Gotta get out and move around and keep the body moving.

Good luck all

You'd better bump those miles up some. You're 16% there after the first weekend.
Working on it. I have several PTO days this month. Hope to get another 20 this week. 100 miles by the end of March is totally in the plan.
Adding about 25 lbs weight in the pack adds up quick. If I can get that 20 this weekend, I should be able to hit that 100+ by end of month

Still too early here for the vast majority of bucks but the time is now fast approaching as March begins.

Over 3 miles today on the upper east end.. zero.. although I did find my lost glove so that was worth it! Got in some good scouting too. I will say it's extremely hard to find sheds in the eastern hills.

Just returning from my favorite shed hunting grounds in Macon Co. GA.
Don't find that really big one but did find several. My favorite find was the one in the creek pic and top right corner in the group photo. Saw it from bout 15 feet above looking down into a creek bottom. No dogs involved in these finds!
