Some days it's just your day….or two. Fished the two day state tournament on Nickajack last weekend. ~200 people in it. Man is that lake a fun place to fish.

Very impressive! If you get time tell us how it went down!
Caught them ok in practice. The guy that was fishing with me (he was on my team but we were fishing against each other if that makes sense) was catching more fish than I was on moving baits but I was catching the bigger ones on a Texas rigged cutter worm.
Day one I was boat 26. Started off slow for me until I picked up a trap and caught all of my fish on it day one in two different areas. I was 3rd end of day 1.
I was concerned day two because not only do they flip flop the boat numbers on takeoff but there was also a ~50 boat ABA tournament that took off out of the same ramp before us so that puts around 125 boats ahead of me and to beat it all my primary area was only a mile away from the ramp and so obvious (to me) that I was mentally prepared for several boats to be there. I came out and rounded the corner under the bridge and couldn't believe my eyes. ZERO boats anywhere near my area.
Pulled up all exited and fished it all and never had a bite. I told my partner that we may have to start thinking about a move but I wanted to try one thing first. I backed out to 12-14' range and caught 3 fish on my first 3 casts on the cutter worm. It was on from there. Ended up culling up for the last time on a trap in a different area. He ended up 6th overall.
