Back in town to help with a bathroom remodel.

Good thing he has a boat and a ton of artificial reef structure out in the gulf. :D

Started out yesterday net casting for menhaden to use for bait right at the boat ramp. Caught about 50 in two casts.

Then spent a good deal of time outrunning thunderstorms and battling sharks and finally got to a spot we could fish and caught our four red snapper in 20 minutes.

On the way back in, got into a big school of bonito on some lightweight gear that were a blast to catch.

My two were 15 lb and 12 lb. Bryant's two went about 14 lbs each.

Got to work on the remodel job today 😢 but should finish up by tonight.

Rest of the week will be on the water weather permitting.

Wow!!! even better to get into fish that size that close!
Yea him and his Dad have been dropping artificial reefs out in the gulf for over 40 years. He rarely goes out further than 8 or 10 miles. He had some that he hadn't fished since last year that we were gonna try but due to the thunderstorms we ran around for a couple of hours and never really got to fish any. He caught a 28 lb one last Saturday at the spot we wound up fishing.

My cousin has been putting out reefs out of Pensacola for a very long time. A hurricane will sometimes move the shallower reefs. I don't remember how shallow but I'm thinking 65 feet or less; maybe even 85 feet?
