You can have a cellular camera for about $76 plus tax. Here is how to do it!

LL Bean site is offering 20% off and free shipping. They sell the Moultrie cameras.https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/123625? ... rie%20Bark

Next save an additional 10%+ buying LLBean gift cards at gift card granny. https://www.giftcardgranny.com/buy-gift-cards/ll-bean/

Next use the $50 camera rebate: https://media.mwstatic.com/cms/rebate/2 ... _print.pdf

Plans start at $5... https://www.moultriemobile.com/plan-overview

ty for posting this...

I've been wanting to try one, but didn't want to spend $250 on a camera that might get stolen. I might have just flushed $80 down the toilet, but it's in Moultrie's best interests to develop a camera that works well so they can skim off the subscription fees. And the features sound pretty good... .3s trigger time, 80ft true black flash range. I'll post a full review once it comes in mid August (apparently they have not begun shipping from manufacturer yet) and I get a chance to test it in the field.

I will say this... a lot of the cheaper cameras/ brands that were totally junk in the past seem to be working out the kinks. I've started having much better success with the $30-$40 cameras in the past year.

I've had a moultrie with the modem system for 2 years. It triggers better than my covert. The plan is a little more expensive though. But for the cams, I've had good luck out of them. To each their own...

I figured I'd give a prelim update....

Took 2 months to come in stock at LL bean. I registered it, paid for monthly plan, then set it up in the house. Worked fine.

Set it up Sat at the lease here in MS and seems to be working well. Nice to get pics on the mobile app.

I'll update on pic quality after I go back and pull the physical card. The pics sent by mobile are thumbnail quality and leave a bit to be desired.

I think we are headed in this direction, but I sure hope all these camera companies continue to drive down prices due to competition (cellular that is). Just have to have a couple of the cheaper brands to come out reputable and reliable.

Thanks for the update mega

You get what you pay for on cell cams. If you want the best battery life and unreal customer support run Coverts! We have been using them for 6 years now and we have over a dozen running on our leases. Their customer service has always been top notch. They have been great to work with and offered us a heck of a deal when they phased out the 3G cams. Allowing us to keep our old cams that will work until Dec. 31 and offering us a great price on the new ones. We get incredible battery life and signal in places our cell phones dont work. We have taken some real nice bucks over the last few years and our best tool has been the covert wireless cams.

Finally bought my first cellular trail cam. Moultrie XV-7000i. With the mail in rebate and coupon I paid $95 to my door. The daytime picture quality is excellent. I haven't tried it outside at night yet. I really like the Moultrie app and changing settings on the camera with my phone. Overall I like the camera but it does one thing I don't like. When an animal triggers it, it takes pics continuously until the area is clear. The data plans aren't cheap and this runs up your pic count quick. Even with the camera set to 1 pic it does this. I've read that it's designed to do that. I'll report back after a couple weeks in the woods.

I pulled my first card from this cam yesterday. Very impressed with the quality of daytime and night pics. Very impressed with the detection range. Very impressed with the flash range. I had about 250 pics sent to moultrie server, there were 300 on the card itself. Only a couple false triggers on the card.

I have not had a problem with runaway pictures, but I have it set to a 5 minute delay since it is on a feeder (here in MS). It is nice to be able to adjust the camera settings remotely.

The app is not without glitches, and it seems about 1 out of 10 times I have to close the app and reboot it to access the pics.

Battery life still to be determined. Only 2 weeks in the field so far on lithiums, and they still show 100%.

Data plans are a little more expensive for this cam than coverts, and that may be where moultrie is skimming extra profit in order to offer the cam itself for less. $10 gets you only 850 pics per month. Not enough if aimed at a well established feeder or lick, but should be fine when aimed at a scrape once we get later in the year.

Overall I think this cam is a home run if you get it for less than $100.

I agree. Put mine in the woods this morning. It was cool as heck to walk by and get pics on my phone. I am experiencing some app glitches but nothing too bad. Like you said, close the app, reboot, comes right up. The detection range is unreal. I swear I walked by at 30 YARDS and it triggered and took a good pic. I am now patiently waiting on deer pics. I put it in an area with multiple rubs and trails. Hoping I get something soon!

I have been running Moultrie for years. They really improved on their second cellular modem. The battery life is almost as long as the battery life on the camera. I have two of the cellular setups running and six other cameras (both M and A series). I have tried other brands too, but have found the price and quality of Moultrie is a good mix. I like the A series for public land in case they get stolen your only out $50 or so if you find the cameras on sale. I bet my oldest Moultrie is pushing 5 years old and still going strong.

More and more impressed with the camera as time goes on. Still running great on 1st set of batteries.

More and more frustrated with the app allowing you to view the pics. It seems to be more glitchy with longer connection times. I suspect Moultrie is falling behind with their servers as the number of cams in the woods increases. If that doesnt improve, I will have to revise my recommendation for this camera. Shame, as the camera itself is a home run.

Absolutely agree. Love the camera but the app SUCKS and it seems to be getting worse instead of better.

Starting to wonder about my camera. I put it out on a 4 wheeler trail Saturday afternoon that is covered in tracks and rubs and has a couple fresh scrapes. It took my picture several times walking away and several times walking out after hunting Saturday evening. Not a single deer pic yet. I just can't believe not one deer has walked down that trail that they were wearing out before.
