Stupid Crappie!

Check out the picture of this stupid, greedy crappie. While I was fishing with a client yesterday, we spotted it floating on the surface. I was going to grab it and use it for catfish bait when we realized the big crappie was still alive with a bluegill stuck in his throat. Silly fish bit off more than he could chew. FYI, we caught catfish on with the bluegill. The crappie went home to client's freezer.

sometimes bluegill and longears have stomachs bigger than their mouths. ive caught them on big cranks but this one takes the cake.

Saw stretch catch a good bream one day while we were fishing the bushes for bass.
It ate a brush hog !
Still chuckle when I remember watching him set the hook and the bream flew over us and the boat lol

I found a 15 pound striper with a 13 inch crappie the same way one morning on Norris. Maybe I can dig up the picture. You see some interesting things when you're on the water more days than off.
