Been a pretty tough season for me so far but I've been fortunate enough to notch 3 tags in Tn. It just seems like I've seen half the turkeys or maybe less than I've seen in years past at every single place I've been. Opening weekend I tried to get a coworker his first bird ever, let's just say he ended up missing.... Twice lol
Started off strong the second weekend and managed to catch a lonely tom and had him killed 10 minutes after flydown, the next morning I started with the big flock that was hanging around the same farm. I managed to finally convince the boss tom to come check me out late in the morning thanks to the Halloran Twisted sister.
Me and a buddy went to Ohio for their opener and the first morning we had a picture perfect hunt and killed a limbhanger by 7:00 am.. unfortunately that was the only bird we heard all weekend.
The Turkeys just now showed up behind my house, the other day I went back after work in the afternoon and was back at the house in about 15 minutes. I caught two toms in the field by themselves and one session of calling was all it took for them to come check out what I was.
